Siren Sisters

The Siren Sisters believe that hearing, not to mention watching, other people sing ought to be a pleasure and not a duty. They also know from experience that most things go better if you have a glass of wine in front of you.

Since being formed in March 2007, the Ashton Keynes based group has gained a reputation for lively and committed performances of close harmony vocal music in relaxed, cabaret style settings. Directed by Graham Loveday, who only wanted an excuse to hang out and drink wine with 12 attractive women, the group embraces music from a broad range of genres from doo-wop to classical via Abba and Estonian folk song.

The Magnificent AK47

The Magnificent AK47 are an all Bloke a capella choral group based in the Ashton Keynes and inspired by the Spooky Men’s Chorale of Australia.

Since forming at the 2008 Ashton Keynes Music Festival they have astounded audiences on their continuing “Wold Tour” with their tremendous entertainment value and mixture of heartfelt lyrics delivered with (intentionally) “tricky” harmonies.

They delight in being a shining example of the pure pleasure of singing together and the triumph of enthusiasm over adequate rehearsal.  They have gone down a storm with those who have witnessed their performances and have been described as “surprisingly good, all things considered”, praise indeed from those sternest of critics, the wife.

Tonight they are engaged with a vocal battle with the ladies of the village, which should provide an additional excuse for the Blokes to dress up in silly costumes and sing songs of male bonding, cowboys and pirates – as if they needed one!
